Popular hen Party Themes
A bit of advice...
Having a theme can be so much fun and gets everyone involved and excited. There are lots of themes to choose from to accommodate all ages and needs.
Traditional – You cannot go wrong with the traditional hen do attire. Think L plates, sashes, tutus, custom t-shirts and willy straws! This is always a fun theme and lets everyone around know you are on a hen do – free drinks and entry anyone?
Decades – decade themes are very popular and a good idea if you have guests of different ages as everyone can get involved with this theme! There’s 1920s Great Gatsby, 50s Rock and Roll, 60s Hippies, 70s Disco, 80s neon and 90s Spice Girls. Why not try a Grease dance class to complement the 50s theme.
Sexy – if you fancy a bit of a cheeky dress up theme then a hen party is the perfect time to do this! Popular dress ups include: cheerleaders, nurses, school girls, burlesque dancers, moulin rouge and 50s pin up girls. You will definitely turn heads in town with these outfits and have great fun.
Sophisticated – if you want to go for something a bit more glamourous then you will love themes such as flapper girls, masquerade, black and bling and Bollywood. Add to this theme by adding some classy activities to the mix, maybe a pamper party, afternoon tea or cocktail masterclass.
Unusual – if the bride wants a more unexpected theme then some of these ideas may suit her request! A popular theme at the moment is granny dress up which can be lots of fun whilst out at night. Wear long nighties, slippers, grey wigs, glasses and grab a walking stick. Other themes include: builders, cowgirls, prisoners, pirates and hula girls.

ShoppingGive or take a few I think it is safe to say that the majority of women will at some point fancy a shop and let me tell you ladies you will not be disappointed in Leeds. Dubbed the Knightsbridge of the North, Leeds has over the past few years undergone a serious makeover. This now seriously stylish shopping mecca is home to stores from some of the UK's most stylish designers including Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith.
Victoria Quarter - A mix of exclusive fashion, beauty and lifestyle stores housed in an elegant Grade 2 listed building in the centre of town. Home to over 170 stores including Ted Baker, Mulberry and Harvey Nichols this is definitely a place to visit.
The Light - If independent retailers are more your thing ladies then other than the Corn Exchange The Light is the place to visit. Here you will also find a number of cafes and restaurants ideal for a spot of lunch before the afternoons activities begin.
The Corn Exchange- Located in one of Britain's finest Grade 1 listed buildings The Corn Exchange provides a unique shopping experience as one of only three corn exchanges in the UK which still operates in a traditional trading way.
Ladies who Lunch
Now ladies as the lads would say the best nights are not planned and to a certain degree that is true, but not all us ladies can work along those lines and sometimes a plan is the only way to calm us down. This is where a spot of lunch before the fun starts can be of help. There are plenty of high street bars in Leeds including Slug and Lettuce and Wetherspoons perfect for getting in the party mood and at the other end of the spectrum more elegant venues. It is completely up to you and the choices of the Hens. We have picked out our 2 favourites to give you a helping hand and well there is nothing wrong with having a vino with lunch - it is your hen party after all and it helps with the thinking process!
The Restaurant Bar and Grill - Located in the heart of the city in the landmark Post Office Building this magnificent restaurant is an ideal location for lunch, with a classic menu there is something for everyone. The stunning terrace especially if the sun is shining is just screaming out for cocktails to be consumed on. Situated within walking distance from the train station this is a key location to all meet on arrival to the city.
Harvey Nichols - If you're wanting to start your Hen Weekend with something a little stylish then get your lovely selves down to Harvey Nichols. The mother in law will be very impressed. Our personal favourite is Fourth Floor Cafe with a spectacular view over Leeds rooftops; this is a unique venue for lunch.
- Night Time -
So you are all danced or pampered out depending on what activities you have chosen to do and now it's time to decide what to do at night. Ladies it can be hard to please everyone and it doesn't matter if you dont so long as the bride is happy! As long as the bride is happy that is all that matters. Below are a few bars, clubs and restaurants to help with your Hen party ideas. Leeds has something for everyone so don't worry if you don't see something you fancy on our list just ask us and we will see if we can help.
The Electric Press- Boasting an array of bars and restaurant with a wide selection of cuisines, The Electric Press is an ideal location to start any Hen Night. With bars such as Revolution and All Bar One you will definitely find something here for all your party.

Oceana - 7 floors of the biggest selection of music any Hen Party could want. Probably better to end up here as you just know you're going to lose someone to the New York disco room even if thats not where the rest of the group are.
